Emily Derstine Martin
October 12, 1961 – October 19, 2022
Emily D. Martin passed peacefully from the arms of her loving husband into the presence of her Saviour on October 19, 2022, after courageously battling leukemia for 2 years.
She was born in Sellersville, PA on October 12, 1961.
She is lovingly missed by Malvern Martin, her dear husband of 39 years, and 13 children: Alex Spring married to Danette, of Chugwater, WY; Ricky Spring of Washington, NC; Dari Martin married to Rita of Plymouth, NC; David Strait of Phoenix, AZ; Joey Phillips married to Kelly of Sparta, WI; Kenton Martin of Pantego, NC; Brooke married to Johann Butikofer of Cuba, MO; Shari married to Kendall Hershberger of Pantego, NC; Jill married to Ryan Martin of Goldston, NC; Elva married to James Lynn Miller of Castalia, NC; and the 3 girls still at home, Shyanne, Harmony, and Melody.
She is also greatly missed by her 14 grandchildren. She loved them dearly and delighted in spending time with them reading stories, playing games, building puzzles, and making precious memories together.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Anna Derstine; brother, Joel Derstine; infant son, Bradlyn D. Martin; and infant granddaughter, Angelina Skye Miller.
We are thankful for the beautiful gift of love and compassion God gave us in our dear mother. We will miss her immensely!
The family will receive friends on Sunday, October 23, 2022, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Hope Mennonite School located at 680 Mainstem Rd. Pantego, NC.
A funeral service will be held Monday, October 24, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at Union Grove Church of Christ. Burial will follow in the Hope Mennonite Church Cemetery.
