George “Georgie” B. Williams, Jr.

George “Georgie” Ben Williams, Jr., 77, of Swan Quarter, died, Saturday, April 10, 2021, at Vidant Medical Center, Greenville.
Georgie was born in Hyde County on September 22, 1943, to the late George Ben, Sr., and Hazel Ballance Williams.
He was a member of the Swan Quarter Baptist Church where he served as a deacon.
Georgie worked for the Hyde County Public School System as their transportation director and retired after twenty-five years of service. He was a member of the former Hyde County Jaycees, the Swan Quarter Volunteer Fire Department, Ducks Unlimited, Delta Waterfowl, and the Hyde County Waterfowl Association. He was an avid hunter and a fisherman who loved Hyde County.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 14, 2021, at the Swan Quarter Baptist Church. Rev. Jimmy Johnson will officiate. Burial will follow in the Williams-Carawan Family Cemetery.
Surviving is his wife Carol M. Williams of fifty-two years; two daughters, Denise W. Williams and husband Raymond of Fairfield, Karen W. Dunbar and husband Todd of Scranton; three grandchildren, Kayla D. Mizelle and husband Reid of Ponzer, Marcus Williams, Katie Dunbar; two great-grandchildren, Ryder Selby, Kora Mizelle; a sister Rosemary Williams of Swan Quarter; three brothers in law, Chuck Mann and wife Linda, Eddie Mann and wife DeeDee, Paul Mann and wife Robin, and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may visit with the family at the home place on 2470 Quarter Road, Swan Quarter, NC.
