Gladys G. Harris

Gladys Gibbs Harris, 93, of Chesapeake, VA, died, Saturday, April 11, 2020, at her residence.

Mrs. Harris was born in Hyde County, June 5, 1926, to the late Latham and Mary Armstrong Gibbs. She was married to Frank O. Harris who preceded her in death.

She was a member of Great Bridge Baptist Church in Chesapeake, VA, and worked as a legal secretary prior to her retirement.

A private graveside service will be held at the family plot in Soule Cemetery. Pastor Phil Emmert will officiate.

Surviving are two sons, Dr. Larry Harris, and wife, Anita of Fisherville, VA, Fletcher Harris and wife Betty Sue of South Mills, NC; four grandchildren, Vann Harris, Nathan Harris, Ashley Harris, and Christopher Harris; four great-grandchildren, Sidney, Fletcher, Jr., Emersyn, and Mackenzie; two brothers, Alfred Gibbs of Suffolk, VA, Bradley Gibbs of Clearwater, FL, and one sister, Diantha Sawyer of Chesapeake, VA.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a brother Raymond Gibbs and two sisters Marjorie Bowen and Peggy Swoope
