Hugh Thomas “Tommy” Davenport, 67, of Columbia, died, Saturday, September 19, 2020 at Chowan River Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Edenton.

Tommy was born in Tyrrell County on April 3, 1953 to the late Hugh T. and Esther Davenport. Prior to returning to Columbia he worked as a machinist for Halliburton Corporation.

Tommy was a kind and gentle person who loved cats and had an artistic gift for writing poetry.

No services are scheduled at this time.

Surviving is a brother Forrest Davenport of Columbia and several aunts.
