Inez Tuten Dudley, 78, of Kinston, passed away peacefully on June 1, 2025, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center in Goldsboro. Following Inez's passing, her brother, Samuel, peacefully transitioned to join his family on June 2, 2025, at Greendale Forest Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Snow Hill, NC.

Inez and Samuel were born to the late Samuel Alonzo, Sr., and Blanche Tuten Dudley. Inez was a graduate of Appalachian State University, where she earned a degree in Special Education. She later worked at the Caswell Development Center in Kinston, where her brother, Samuel, was a resident. Her purpose in life was to provide and care for her brother, Samuel. She was a devoted giver and lifetime member of the Arc of Beaufort County for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. at the family plot on Friday, June 6, 2025, with Pastor Jerald Craddock officiating. The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 5, 2025, at the funeral home from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Surviving is a sister, Bertha Spencer(Richard) of Engelhard, and two cousins, Edith D. Jenkins(Carroll) of Washington and Billy Dudley(Sue) of Climax, NC. 

Even though Inez, Sammy, and I are not sisters and brother by blood, we are bound together by love. If God could grant me one last wish, I would ask for the chance to say goodbye, I know it is true when they say God only takes the best, so Inez and Sammy, go ahead and take your heavenly rest.
