James Robert Cherry, 80, of Plymouth and most recently a resident of Roanoke Landing Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, died, Friday, July 24, 2020.

Robert was born in Washington County on April 3, 1940, to the late James Lee and Martha Elizabeth Ayers Cherry.

Robert loved to grow roses, during his early working years he worked for Plymouth Towing, and later he became the co-owner and manager of the former Perco Gas Station.

A private graveside service will be held at the family plot at Hillside Memorial Gardens.

Surviving is a brother Frank Cherry and wife Mary of Roper; a sister Kay C. Davis of Havana, FL, and several nieces and nephews.

Arrangements are by Bryan Funeral Service at Hampton Academy, Plymouth.
