James John Swain
July 15, 1946 – March 7, 2025

James J. Swain, 78, of Creswell, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 7, 2025, at his home surrounded by his family.

James was born in Washington County, on July 15, 1946, to the late Allison and Martha Arnold Swain.

James served his country in the United States Army and later worked as a tugboat captain. He loved to fish and dance.

He is survived by a son Daryl Hall (Tammy) of Jamesville; a daughter Jennifer Jo Harrell (Tony) of Columbia; four grandchildren, Thomas Furlough, Ross Williams, Casey Thomas, Madison Hall and one great-grandchild, Laney Thomas.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

He was preceded in death by two brothers Richard Swain and Fred Swain, and one sister Lib Prichett.
