Jean W. Williams
January 17, 1941 – December 10, 2020
Jean W. Williams, 79, formerly of Swan Quarter and most recent of Seaboard, NC, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Thursday, December 10, 2020.
Jean was born in Roanoke, Virginia, on January 17, 1941, to the late Joseph C. and Hazel Lott Williams, II. She was married to Ira Dixon Williams who preceded her in death.
Jean and Ira raised their family in Hyde County. During her working years, Jean worked as a supervisor for the ferry system. She was a member of the Calvary Presbyterian Church in Swan Quarter, NC.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, December 28, 2020, at Soule Cemetery. Pastor Matthew Dupuy will officiate.
She is survived by a daughter, Miriam W. Sawyer and husband George of Scranton; three sons, Col. Ira Dixon “Don” Williams, Jr. and wife Leray of Niceville, FL, Gary Layne Williams and wife Pamela of Greenville and Daryl Kent Williams and wife Kandy of Seaboard; eight grandchildren, Eric Sawyer, Cheryl (Stacey) Keech, Daniel (Mandy) Williams, David Williams, Tanner (Caroline) Williams, Lauren Williams, Taylor (Austin) Jensen, and Harley Williams (and fiancé Dillon Draper), and four great-grandchildren, Kailey and Kacey Keech, Karsyn and Heath Williams. She is also survived by her brother Joseph Cordon “JC” Williams, Jr and wife Jenny of Swan Quarter, and her sister Carol Smith of Washington.
She was preceded in death by a grandson, James Kendell Williams, and a brother, James W. “Jimmy” Williams, Sr, and several brothers and sisters in–law.
The family will receive friends following the service.
