Johanna S. DaBica
June 15, 1940 – June 10, 2026
Johanna Szymanski DaBica, 85, of Plymouth, NC passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, at her home with family by her side.
Johanna was born in Lackawanna County, Pennsylvania, on June 15, 1940, to the late Alexander E. Szymanski. and Pauline D. Leonard.
She was the widow of Daniel R. DaBica, with whom she shared many years of marriage, partnership, and work. Johanna and Daniel spent much of their long careers together in furniture sales, where Johanna was known for her warmth, style, and natural ability to connect with people.
After retirement, Johanna remained every bit as active and social. She was a prolific party planner who loved bringing people together and creating occasions that family and friends would remember.
She is survived by her daughter, Cynthia A. Weaver of Plymouth; her grandson, Benjamin S. Pace of Plymouth; her sister, Dana L. Ganci of Berlin, Connecticut; and several nieces, nephews, and grandnephews.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Daniel R. DaBica, she was preceded in death by her sister, Patricia Szymanski, and four brothers: James Leonard, Alexander Szymanski, Richard Szymanski, and Paul Szymanski.
A private service will be held at a later date.
