Julious Thomas “JT” Ainsley

Julious Thomas Ainsley “Boney”, 83, of Columbia passed away on Sunday, September 17, 2023, at the Chowan River Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Julious was born in Tyrrell County on June 9, 1940, to the late Julious Stanley and Beatrice Smith Ainsley.
He spent his working years with the North Carolina Department of Transportation in the Bridge Department. He also raised hogs and worked as a farmer. JT loved to race cars – his favorites were a Ford GT, Dodge GTX and a Duster. He will be missed by his family.
A visitation with family and friends will be held from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m., on Tuesday, September 19, 2023, at the Bryan Funeral Service Chapel in Columbia.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 20, 2023, at Bryan Funeral Service Chapel, with Mike Mizelle officiating. Burial will follow at the family plot in St. David’s Episcopal Church Cemetery in Creswell.
He is survived by two brothers, Phil S. Ainsley and wife Ruby of Hertford, and Dwight N. Ainsley and wife Virginia of Washington; and a sister, Judy A. Ford and husband Doug of Chocowinity; and nieces and nephews: Stanley Ainsley of Washington, Dwight Ainsley of Clearwater, FL, Mark Ainsley of Lincoln, NE, Kim Davenport and Lisa Davenport.
