Leah Gibbs, 84, of Greenville, formerly of Scranton, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 9, 2024, at ECU Health Medical Center in Greenville.

Mrs. Gibbs was born in Beaufort County on May 20, 1940, to the late Lloyd Lee and Ruby Jennette Williams.  She was married to Ray Mitchell Gibbs who preceded her in death. 

Mrs. Leah was a member of the Sladesville Missionary Baptist Church.  

There will be a visitation from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Bryan Funeral Service in Swan Quarter on Thursday, July 11, 2024.  A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m., on Friday, July 12, 2024, at the Sladesville Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery, with Phil Deitz officiating. 

She is survived by her son, Mitchell Wayne Gibbs (Vanessa) of Greenville; a granddaughter, Mackenzie Ray Gibbs; and a brother Lloyd Lee Williams, Jr. (Gloria) of Scranton; two nephews, Lloyd Lee Williams III of Scranton, Quinton Vick of Greenville, and a niece, Trisha W. Ricks (Chance) of Blounts Creek.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Sladesville Missionary Baptist Church c/o Judy Midyette, 308 Wharton St, Washington, NC 27889.
