Lindsey Glenn Mooney, Jr.
 December 14, 1940 – April 1, 2021

 Lindsey Glenn Mooney, Jr. gained his heavenly wings on April 1, 2021, at Carolina East Medical Center, New Bern.

Better known as Glenn, Lindsey was born on December 14, 1940, to Lindsey G. Mooney, Sr. and Laura Pauline Blake Mooney.  He was a graduate of West Hyde High school, class of 1959. In August of 1959, he enrolled at East Carolina College and attended for two years. In 1960 Glenn registered and entered the United States Coast Guard, serving for eight years.

While enlisted in the United States Coast Guard and following his six-month active duty, he met the love of his life Martha C. “Delia” Mooney and they were married on August 22, 1962.

Born to this union were three children, Paula M. Oliver (Todd), Angela M. White (Neal), and Lindsey G. Mooney III (Jessica); eight grandchildren Stacey Davis, Lauren Davis, Kyle Mooney (Logan), Ashley Mooney, Haley Berry, Bo Mooney, Nolan Mooney, Will White, and Sydney White; three great-grandchildren, Reagan Davis, Cole Beckett Mooney, and Gatlin Mooney. He is also survived by a sister Linda M. Basnight.

He was a member of the Fairfield Christian Church, where he served on the church board and as a deacon.

Glenn was very active in his county, having served as the Fairfield Volunteer Fire Department's first fire chief and assisted with the station's construction. Glenn was a certified North Carolina Emergency Medical Technician. for many years, Glenn was a dedicated CPR instructor. He was a charter member of the Mattamuskeet Jaycees; he served several years on the Wachovia Bank board and the Hyde County Farm Bureau Board. Glenn was actively involved in the Hyde County 4H program, especially in the Hyde County Livestock show. For thirty-six years, he contributed to his county as a Pork Producer and member of the North Carolina Pork Producers Association. For twelve years; he was also a member of the Albemarle Cattleman Association. He also served on the OA Peay School Advisory Board.

Following his retirement, he became an avid gardener who loved sharing his abundance of vegetables with his community.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 4, 2021, at the funeral home. A funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Monday, April 5, 2021, at the Fairfield Christian Church. Pastor Billy Ray Askew will officiate. Burial will follow in the family plot in the Fairfield Cemetery.
