Lyle S. Cox
September 27, 1962 – October 11, 2025

Lyle Scott Cox died October 11, 2025, in Greenville, North Carolina, at the age of sixty-three.

Lyle was born on September 27, 1962. He was raised in Engelhard, North Carolina, by his parents, Hyler J. Cox and Millie Spencer Cox, who preceded him in death. Lyle is survived by his brother Hyler Wayne Cox of Engelhard.

After graduating from North Carolina State University in 1984 with a BA in Accounting and Business, Lyle worked at United Inter-Mountain Telephone in Bristol, Tennessee, until 1995.

Upon returning to Eastern North Carolina, Lyle enjoyed a rewarding career as a hotelier and accounting manager in the Outer Banks. It was at The Sanderling Resort that he met his wife, Peggy Oskin Cox, in 2003. They have been inseparable for over 20 years.

Honoring Lyle’s wishes, a private memorial service will be held at a later date at the family plot in Fulford Cemetery.
