Margenette (Davis) Davenport
May 25, 1926 - March 23, 2021

Margenette (Davis)Davenport, 94, of Columbia, NC, passed into her eternal rest on March 23, 2021, at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville.

Mrs. Davenport was born in Tyrrell County on May 25, 1926, to the late Charlie and Annie Kemp Davis.  She was married to Dallas Davenport who survives.  She was a member of the Columbia Missionary Baptist Church.

Mrs. Davenport was a homemaker who loved her family with all her heart.  She loved her church and served by assisting with Bible school.  Her favorite hobbies and pastimes included reading, crafting, camping and hummingbirds.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm, Friday, March 26, 2021, at Bryan Funeral Service Chapel.  Prudencio Casas will officiate.  Interment will be at Azalea Memorial Gardens.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by three sons, Charles Davenport and wife Kathie of Moneta, VA, Frankie Davenport and wife Wanda of Columbia, NC, and Jimmy Davenport and wife Teresa of Chesapeake, VA; nine grandchildren and twenty-five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by three sisters, Fannie Swain, Arvilla West and Hulda Hassell; and a grandson, David Dice.

Friends may visit with the family from 6:00-8:00 pm on Thursday, March 25, 2021, at Bryan Funeral Service Chapel, Columbia.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Columbia Missionary Baptist Church at PO Box 82, Columbia, NC  27925.
