Mary A. (Bateman) Cooper

Mary Albertia (Bateman) Cooper, 79, of Columbia, NC died on Wednesday, December 22, 2021, at the Tyrrell House Assisted Living Facility in Columbia.

Albertia Cooper was born in Tyrrell County, NC on July 20, 1942, to the late Rufus Jackson, and Estoria Roughton Bateman.

Albertia was a homemaker. Her favorite past times were baking, cooking, and crocheting for family and friends.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, December 26, 2021, in the Bryan Funeral Service Chapel in Columbia.  Family will visit with friends one hour prior to the service.  Interment will follow at the Maitland Cemetery.

She is survived by her two sons, Kenneth Mauffray of Columbia and Richard Mauffray (Monica) of Columbia, four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Tonya Mims.
