Mary Jean Gibbs
July 31, 1945 – March 8, 2025

Mary Jean Gibbs, 79, of Fairfield, passed away on Saturday, March 8, 2025, in Washington, NC.

Mary Jean was born in Hyde County on July 31, 1945, to the late Edward S. and Hilda Midgette Gibbs.  She married Coley Gibbs, who survives.

Mary Jean always loved crafting, painting rocks and gourds cooking, and spending time with her family. 

A gathering of family and friends will take place from 1:30 – 3:30 pm on Saturday, March 15, 2025, at Pleasant Grove Church of Christ.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons, Casey Gibbs (Jessica) of Fairfield, and Buddy Gibbs of Greenville; her daughter, Robin G. Watson (Michael) of Washington; three brothers, Jackie Gibbs (Gloria) of Scotland Neck, Jimmy Gibbs (Sandra) of Engelhard, and Jessie Gibbs (Dottie) of Engelhard; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Jerry Gibbs, and a grandchild, Cassidy Grace Watson.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
