Maxwell Earl Carawan

Maxwell Earl Carawan, 63, of Swan Quarter, died, unexpectedly at home Tuesday, July 6, 2021.
Maxwell was born in Beaufort County, on October 11, 1956, to the late John Alvin and Lois Sanderson Carawan.
He spent his working years as a long-distance truck driver. He was a gifted artist, that worked on leather. He enjoyed singing for the Lord.
A visitation will be held from 1:00 -2:00 p.m. on Friday, July 9, 2021, at Christ’s Church of Rose Bay. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m., officiated by Phil Emmert and Linwood Smith. Burial will follow at the family plot in Soule Cemetery, Swan Quarter, NC.
Surviving are his life companion, Ila Marie Bender; two sons, Christopher Wayne Carawan of Pinetown, NC, and Kenneth James Carawan of Burlington, VT; a daughter, Jackie Ann Bolton of Georgia; a step-son, Frankie Bender; a stepdaughter, Erica Morales, and ten grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister Jenny Stotesberry and her husband Jeffrey.
