Milton N. Council, Jr.
August 3, 1945 – May 20, 2024

Milton “Buddy” Neal Council, Jr., 78, formerly of South Mills, NC, and most recently a resident of the Carrolton of Plymouth, died, Monday, May 20, 2024.

Buddy was born in Suffolk, VA on August 3, 1945, to the late Milton Neal, Sr., and Mariam Parker Council. He worked in the construction industry as a residential and commercial contractor.

Buddy was a regular at Dixieland Speedway, where he enjoyed spending time with his son. A diehard Washington Redskins and Kyle Bush fan, Buddy loved to fish, he was known for his joking personality, and his ability to make friends anywhere he went.

A memorial service will be held Thursday, May 30, 2024, at 3:00 p.m., at Bryan Funeral Service, Columbia. Pastor Royce Reynolds will officiate.

The family will receive friends immediately following the service.

Surviving is a son, Milton Council, III (Casey) of Columbia; a grandson, Colton Council; one brother, Larry Council of Hertford and two sisters, Peggy C. Wilson (Wayne) of Portsmouth, VA, and Shirley C. Snow (Phil) of Chesapeake, VA.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Louise “Punk” Hudgins of Chesapeake, VA.
