Patricia Baum Herman

Patricia Baum Herman passed peacefully in the evening of Sunday, July 6, 2025.

Patricia (affectionately called “Pat”) was born on September 1, 1937, in Fairfield, NC, to Edison & Vesta Baum. Patricia grew up in Fairfield, graduating from West Hyde High School in 1955. She then moved to Rocky Mount, NC, and worked for the Carolina Telephone Company, where she met her husband, Ben Herman. The two were married for over 65 years, until his passing in October 2022.

After raising their three children, Patricia loved being a teacher at Memorial Baptist Church Preschool in Williamston, NC, for many years. Upon retirement, Pat and Ben moved back to her childhood home in Fairfield, NC, where she continued to live until 2025.

Patricia was an amazing amateur artist, painting beautiful landscapes and wildlife scenes. She also enjoyed crocheting, sewing, gardening, canning, and making sure her hummingbird feeders were always replenished.

Patricia is survived by her sister, Myla Baum Cutrell; son, Kendall B. Herman; daughter, Tina H. Page (m. Dawson); three grandchildren, Joshua Page (m. Melissa), Morgan Crisp (m. Joyner), and Michael Page (m. Felicia); three great-grandchildren, Joshua Page Jr., Sophia Page, and Adam Page; as well as all of her Cutrell nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Edison and Vesta Baum; son, Thomas A. (Tony) Herman; and husband, Ben Herman Jr.

The funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 12, 2025, at 11 AM at Fairfield Methodist Church. The family will receive friends immediately after the service in the Family Life Center. A private burial will be afterward.
