June 23, 1936 – May 22, 2022
Peter Alan Gottfried, 85, of Roper, died, Sunday, May 22, 2022, at Vidant Chowan Hospital, Edenton.
Mr. Gottfried was born in Pittsburgh, PA to the late Julius A. and Marie Gelston Gottfried. He was married to the former Sunshine Benton who survives.
He proudly served his country as a Staff Sergeant while enlisted in the United States Air Force, and later worked as a sheriff deputy for the Hampton Sheriff Department.
He had a love for motorcycles, aircrafts and rescuing animals.
Per his request no local services will be held at this time.
In addition to his wife surviving are three daughters, Sandra Brucker, Judy Skinger, and Debbie Macario all of Pittsburgh PA; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Arrangements are by Bryan Funeral Service at Hampton Academy, Plymouth.
