Phyllis Quidley Sanderlin
November 5, 1936 – November 12, 2025

Phyllis Q. Sanderlin, 89, formerly of Wanchese and most recently a resident of Columbia, passed away on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, at ECU Health Chowan Hospital.

Phyllis Quidley Sanderlin was born in Dare County on November 5, 1936, to the late George Hale Quidley and Gertrude Baum Quidley Daniels.  She married the Rev. Lloyd Lexie Sanderlin, Sr., who preceded her in death.

Phyllis was a  past member of the Manteo Baptist Church and presently a member of Columbia Missionary Baptist Church. She was a homemaker and a caregiver, taking care of her family, whom she loved. 

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, November 17, 2025, at Columbia Missionary Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Wanchese at the Cudworth Cemetery at 2:00 p.m., Monday, November 17, 2025.

The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service.

She is survived by two sons, Lloyd Lexie Sanderlin, Jr. of Wanchese, and Ira Boyce Sanderlin (Paula) Spring Hope, NC, two daughters, Rena S. Deaver (Gordon) of Columbia, and Dora S. Lilley of Jamesville, seven grandchildren, Ronnie Grimsley (Samantha), Dennis Grimsley (Keri), Carrie L. Jones (David), Anna L. Weathersby, Jenna L. Hardison (Phillip), Steven Beaudoin (Courtney) and Cheryl Beaudoin, and thirteen great-grandchildren, Madison Grimsley, Megan Grimsley, Ronnie E. Grimsley, Ryan Grimsley, Blake Jones, Kalyn Jones, Jackson Weathersby, Ava Weathersby, Grace Weathersby, Levi Hardison, Jace Hardison, Addison Zeiders, Bristol Beaudoin.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother Phillip Hale Quidley, Sr.

Memorial contributions can be made to a charity of choice.
