December 7, 1932 – August 15, 2024

Ramona Jane Sawyer, 91, formerly of Jefferson Street, Plymouth, and most recently of the Pinetown Community, died, Thursday, August 15, 2024, at her daughter’s residence.

Born in Richwood, West Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Ecil and Pearl Meadows Rader. She was married to Henry Bryant Sawyer who preceded her in death.

Ms. Ramona enjoyed cooking and a good yard sale. She was known for her strong faith in the Lord and family values.

A service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, August 17, 2024, at Bryan Funeral Service at Hampton Academy, Plymouth. Pastor Leonard Bowers will officiate. Burial will follow in Windley Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.

Surviving are two daughters, Rita Cottingham of Walterboro, SC and Penny S. Waters (Tony) of Pinetown; one son Henry Craig Sawyer (Kim) of Plymouth; eight grandchildren, Hillary Faithe Cottingham, Caitlin Cottingham, Rebecca Ann Stone, Kristin Sawyer, Elijah Craig Sawyer, Anthony Tyler Waters (Danielle), Allison Waters, Alex Bryan Waters; four great-grandchildren, Kyle Stone, Bridgette Stone, Avery Stone and Walker Tyler Waters and one brother, Sidney Arthur Rader of Virginia Beach, VA.  She is also survived by a special niece, Beth Floyd of Plymouth.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son William "Mike" Sawyer; two brothers, Alan Burl Rader, and Howard Rader; a sister, Anna Lee Humphreys and a sister-in-law, Peggy Rader.

Arrangements are by Bryan Funeral Service at Hampton Academy, Plymouth.
