Rebecca Jones-Grooms

November 21, 1955 – April 27, 2024

Rebecca Jones-Grooms, 68, of Plymouth died unexpectedly, Saturday April 27, 2024, at her residence.

She was born in Springfield, Illinois on November 21, 1955, to the late Luther and Clara Stewart Jones. She was married to David Jones-Grooms, who survives.

There will be no public viewing. In lieu of flowers please donate to Eastern North Carolina School for the Deaf in Wilson, NC. 

Rebecca was a well-respected Teacher and Professor of Deaf Education and Special Education at John A. Logan, MacMurray, and Barton Colleges. She had a rare and accepting heart that garnered her friends all over the world from the classroom to social media. Her loss will be felt by many. 

Surviving in addition to her husband is her daughter, Rachel F. Jeans, and husband Daniel Jeans of Plymouth.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Rich Jones, and her sister, Barbara Marvel.
