Roland Guy Coburn, Jr.
November 2, 1938 - March 22, 2025

Roland “Ronnie” Guy Coburn, Jr., 86, of Jamesville, passed away at his home, on Saturday, March 22, 2025.

Ronnie Coburn was born in Martin County on November 2, 1938, to the late Roland Guy and Esther Ashburn Coburn, Sr. He was married to the former Shelly Arnold, who survives.

Ronnie honorably served his country in the United States Army and worked as a millwright with Weyerhaeuser Pulp & Paper Co. He had an extensive love of fly fishing for bream, or whatever else was biting. Later in life he found a passion for cornhole, which he became pretty good at in his 80’s. His eyes lit up when all the grand & great grand kids were visiting. Ronnie also loved his Tar Heels. He hardly ever missed a basketball game on TV. 

A funeral service will be held on Friday, March 28, 2025, at 3:00 p.m. at Gospel Light Church of Christ. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service. Pastor Jerry Norris will officiate.  Burial will follow in Hillside Memorial Gardens. 

Surviving in addition to his wife is a daughter, Donna C. Rogers ( Ricky, deceased)of Williamston; a son, Roland O. Coburn (Julie) of Jamesville; five grandchildren, Courtney Mobley, Chasity Coburn, Chloe J. Coburn, Casey D. Rogers (Jennifer), Jordan M. Rogers; nine great-grandchildren, Garrett Mobley, Jalyn Johnson, Landyn Bland, Jace Hadley, Leelyn Coburn, Hayden Rogers, Kylee Rogers, Gracie Rogers and
Ellie Rogers and a sister, Rebecca “Becky” Brown (Bobby) of Plymouth, nephews Robbie Brown (Heather), Carson Brown. Great nephews included McCaskey Brown & Kit Brown.

He was preceded in death by a son, Gary Wayne Coburn.
