Sara B. Reynolds
August 30, 1931 – October 9, 2022

Sara Brickhouse Reynolds, 91, of Columbia, passed away on Sunday, October 9, 2022, at ECU Health Chowan Hospital.

Sara Reynolds was born in Tyrrell County on August 30, 1931, to the late Edward William and Hattie Lee Cahoon Brickhouse.  She was married to the late Ronel M. Reynolds.

She was a homemaker that loved caring for her family, sewing and cooking.  She was a founding member of the Sandy Acres Free Will Baptist Church and participated in many of the church groups.  She was loved by many past Tyrrell Public School students from working in the schools.  Sara was also a member of a community outreach program and an Eastern Star member. 

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 11, 2022, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Bryan Funeral Service Chapel.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m., on Wednesday, October 12, 2022, at the Sandy Acres Free Will Baptist Church, officiated by Terry Mosley and Shawn Williams.  Interment will follow at Azalea Memorial Gardens, Columbia. 

Sara is survived by three sons, all of Columbia:  Shane L. Reynolds, Dwayne E. Reynolds, and Ronel M. Reynolds, Jr.; one daughter, Sheila R. Fankhauser (John) of Clarksville, OH; grandchildren: Jody Reynolds, Jeremy Reynolds, Justin Fankhauser, Kristen Fankhauser, Meredith Shively, Kaitlyn Bishop, Traci R. Sexton, Billy Knapp, and Tony Knapp; Great-grandchildren:  Amelia Sexton, Jackson Sexton, Millie Shively, Byron Reynolds, Haley Reynolds, Cameron Knapp, Lanie Knapp, Cody Knapp, McCrae Knapp, McKaylee Knapp, Aaron Knapp, and Shanique Basnight; and one Great-great Grandchild, Addy Reynolds.  She is also survived by her sister, Hyla B. Gardner of Reno, NV, and many loved nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a son, Kenny F. Reynolds, a daughter Betsy Reynolds; a brother, Nathan Brickhouse, and a sister, Becky Wilson.
