Tracie Lynn Bowen Hubers Obituary

Tracie Lynn Bowen Hubers, born on May 11, 1969, in Beaufort County, was an amazing wife, mother, sister, cousin and aunt to many, went to her eternal home with Jesus on June 16, 2024.

Tracie, a member of Long Acre Chapel Christian Church, had a fierce love for many things in her life but most importantly God, her husband, Travis “Doc” and son Brian Reed. She truly loved her four-legged kids, Queenie and Buster, along with her granddog, Boone. She cherished her family and they meant everything to her. She was always the one that ensured that “all” were included and no one missed any type of update or information concerning the family. Always the “fire ball” and “favorite” (inside joke), she brought an inspiration to any threshold she entered. She had a vivacious spirit that was contagious amongst friends, family and students.

She earned her Masters Degree in Education at East Carolina University and taught for 33 years between Creswell, Bath Elementary and Terra Ceia  Christian School. Her enthusiasm for learning and teaching assisted many students in various ways, whether configuring an Algebraic equation or giving guidance for life skills. She always made time and effort for whatever the cause. Also, strongly involved in her community, she served alongside her husband, Travis, as an EMT with Pinetown EMS and gave countless hours. Tracie loved preparing new recipes to share with others that were always unique and delicious. Many days, she could be found watching her favorite cartoons, especially Snoopy and the Peanuts gang, and cooking shows. She richly enjoyed her paradise away from home at Lake Phelps, along with her family and friends. Whether it was boating with her husband and pups or stirring up something fabulous for the family in the kitchen, “The Lake” was the place she loved to be.

Tracie was preceded in death by her mother, Karen Bowen, maternal grandparents, John and Esther Keyzer, and paternal grandparents, Henry and Etta  Bowen. She will be deeply missed by her surviving family, her husband Travis Hubers, her son Brian Reed, her father Joseph Bowen, her brother Brian  Bowen and wife Melissa, her nephews Kendal (Hot Shot) & Ebony, Carson (Spunky Doo) & Kelsee, and Hayden (Cracker Jack), and one great-nephew, Sage, along with many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Tracie will always be remembered for her dedication to her family, friends, community and students.

The family will receive friends and visitors at the home of Joseph Bowen. A visitation will be held at Long Acre Chapel Christian Church Fellowship Hall from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM June 18, 2024 . A funeral service will be held at Long Acre Chapel Christian Church June 19, 2024 at 3PM. Honorary  Pallbearers include: D.R. Alligood, Tim Siebelink, and Orville Jones. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Terra Ceia Christian School.

Bryan Funeral Service at Hampton Academy, Plymouth is honored to serve the Hubers family.
